CD set of two orchestral concerts conducted by the late ISRAEL YINON

As a tribute to our superb conductor friend, we plan to issue a recording of the opening and closing concerts of the First Taipei International Lyricism in 20th Century Music Festival from April 2009.

Programme I
  1. Johannes Brahms (1833 Hamburg - 1897 Vienna):  Nänie for mixed chorus and orchestra, Op. 82 (1881 Vienna; text by Schiller) 
  2. Alexander (von) Zemlinsky (1871 Vienna - 1942 Larchmont NY):  Prelude and Interlude from the opera Es war einmal (Once Upon A Time, 1899 revised c. 1912 Vienna)
  3. Franz Schreker (1878 Monaco - 1934 Berlin):  Schwanengesang for mixed chorus and orchestra (1902 Vienna; text Dora Leen) 
  4. Julius Bürger (1897 Vienna - 1995 New York; Schreker student in Vienna und Berlin):  'Cello Concerto (1932 Vienna) with Gary Hoffman, 'cello
  5. Brahms:  Schicksalslied for mixed chorus and orchestra, Op. 54 (1872 Vienna?; text Hölderlin)

The Italian version of this outstanding book is already in the works, whereas we hope to see it published also in Chinese, French and maybe even Spanish. Hopefully the Chinese version will be issued at the same time as the Israel Yinon tribute CD set (Project No. 1 above).
